Snapframe is built privacy-first. Your images are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded to us. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.
Last updated: June 2026
In short:your screenshots stay on your device, we don't sell your data, and the only data we handle is privacy-friendly analytics (if enabled) and Stripe for Pro payments.
Your images never leave your device
Snapframe is a browser-based editor. When you open a screenshot or image, all editing, rendering and export happen locally inside your browser. We do not upload, store, view or back up your images on our servers — there are no image servers to upload to. When you close the tab, the image is gone from memory.
What little data we do handle
Because the heavy lifting is local, the data we touch is minimal:
•Privacy-friendly analytics (if enabled). We may use aggregate, cookie-light analytics to count page views and understand which features are used. These are anonymised and never tied to your images or identity.
•Payments via Stripe. If you buy Pro, payment is handled securely by Stripe. Stripe processes your card details and an email address for the receipt — we never see or store your full card number. See Stripe's privacy policy.
•Local browser storage. Preferences and Pro-unlock status are stored in your own browser (local storage) so the app remembers your settings. This data stays on your device.
We don't sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data — to anyone, ever. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't share your information with data brokers. The only third parties involved are the infrastructure providers we need to run the service (such as Stripe for payments and our hosting/analytics providers), and only for that purpose.
Cookies
Snapframe aims to stay close to cookie-free. We use essential storage to run the app and remember your preferences. Any analytics we use is chosen to be privacy-friendly and aggregate. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
Because we hold so little personal data, there is very little to request, correct or delete. If you have bought Pro and want your purchase email removed, or you have any privacy question, just contact us and we'll help. You can clear local data at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.
