Honest answers about pricing, privacy and what Snapframe can do. No catch, no subscription, no account required.
Is it really free?
+
Yes. You can open the editor and create, edit and export screenshots without paying anything. Free exports include a small Snapframe watermark. The only thing behind the paywall is the one-time $12 Pro unlock that removes that watermark and adds a few extras.
What does the $12 Pro unlock?
+
Pro removes the watermark from your exports and unlocks higher-resolution output (up to 4×). It's a single $12 payment — pay once, keep it. Everything else in the editor is already available for free.
Is it a subscription?
+
No. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Pro is a one-time $12payment. We won't bill you again, ever.
Do my images get uploaded?
+
No. Snapframe runs entirely in your browser. Your screenshots and images are processed locally on your own device and are never uploaded to a server. Nothing to leak, nothing to delete.
Do I need an account?
+
No account needed. Open the editor and start immediately — no sign-up, no email, no login. (A Pro purchase simply unlocks the watermark removal on your device.)
What formats can I export?
+
You can export to PNG, JPG and WEBP. PNG also supports a fully transparent background, so you can drop your image straight onto any design.
Can I blur sensitive info?
+
Yes. Snapframe has a blur tool for hiding sensitive details — emails, names, API keys, faces or anything you don't want visible — before you export or share. Since everything runs locally, the original never leaves your device.
Can I do many at once (batch)?
+
Yes. Batch processing lets you apply the same frame, background and settings to multiple images at once and export them together — handy for app-store sets, changelogs or a consistent feed.
How is it cheaper than other tools?
+
Most editors charge a monthly subscription. Snapframe runs entirely in your browser, so there are no servers to pay for and no per-seat costs to pass on. That's why we can keep it free to use and charge a single $12 for Pro instead of billing you every month. See the full comparison.
Is my payment secure?
+
Yes. Payments are handled by Stripe, a leading and PCI-compliant payment provider. Your card details go straight to Stripe — Snapframe never sees or stores them.
